Billing Specialist

Position Description:
Reporting to the Accounting Department’s Project Manager, the Billing Specialist will:
- Determine eligibility of LTC client policies.
- Submit necessary documentation to process claims.
- Maintain, track, and follow-up on all open claims.
- Billing and Accounts Receivable (A/R), including collections and processing payments.
- Prepare payroll for approximately 40 nursing assistants, whose schedules are always changing.
- Some administrative tasks to include processing checks received in the mail.
- Assisting in collecting "walk-in" payments and resolving account discrepancies.
Qualifications:
- Two to three years experience in insurance billing, A/R, and collections. Insurance billing experience is REQUIRED.
- Data entry skills and experience w/database software.
- Detail oriented; able to work independently, meet deadlines and prioritize workload.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including polite and effective telephone demeanor and customer service abilities.
- Be part of a team and possess a "do whatever it takes attitude."
