Event Planner

Family & Nursing Care, a growing, fast-paced home care registry with an excellent reputation for serving the senior community since 1968 seeks an Event Planner in our fast paced Marketing Department with a commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and coordinates both in-house and off site events and functions from beginning to end. You will lead the planning process for all company events including a variety of external marketing events targeted towards various client, family, caregiver, and professional referral bases as well as internal company events. Events may include anniversary parties, caregiver appreciation events, staff luncheons and/or retreats, client education seminars, professional continuing education credit seminars, outreach seminars, and more.
  • Creates opportunities to present to outreach groups, support groups, and worship community groups through researching and identifying prospects and taking the lead on initiating conversations and scheduling presentations.
  • Identifies and follows up on opportunities to exhibit in the Washington DC area at health fairs, trade shows, wellness clinics, etc.
  • For all events, duties may include:
    • identifying event locations,
    • securing speakers,
    • developing topics/curriculum,
    • collaborating on development of all promotional materials (e.g. invitations, flyers, signage, power point presentations, giveaways, websites),
    • managing RSVPs and event questions
    • working with vendors on location details (e.g. parking, A/V, room layout, catering)
    • recruiting staff to participate as needed
    • post event follow up (e.g. evaluations, thank you's)
    • ensuring that events meet attendance goals and adhere to budgets
  • Attends all events as company liaison and may present on behalf of company at events as needed.
  • Networks with community professionals to create a speakers bureau for potential events and actively seek to enhance and grow the Company's image and through representing Family & Nursing Care, Legacy Home Care, Legacy Therapeutic Massage and the Family & Nursing Care Foundation to the professional community at outreach events and functions.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience developing and carrying out various types of marketing and special event campaigns.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to plan, organize and track multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Highly attentive to detail and the aesthetics of presenting information per the target audience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including polite and effective telephone demeanor and customer service abilities.
  • Thrives in a fast paced work environment with ability to successfully handle many tasks at one time.
  • Creative, flexible, and innovative team player with a “do whatever it takes attitude.”
  • Flexibility and willingness to work outside of normal business work hours.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • Associates Degree or higher preferred, but not required.
