Therapeutic Massage

“The massage therapist from Family & Nursing Care is incredible. She is very knowledgeable about my body, where my tension is, and how to reduce my pain. Since I began receiving weekly massages, my spasticity has decreased, resulting in less pain. The massage therapist has also taught me to pay more attention to my own body. I would not have been able to get through the past few months without her help.”  — Lucy W., Silver Spring, MD
“Massage is a necessary component to my husband’s care…He sleeps better, it’s wonderful for pain relief and he really looks forward to it. Getting weekly therapeutic massages has made a significant difference in his quality of life.” — Kara G., Silver Spring, MD

Working every day with aging adults, as we do, our eyes continue to be open to new possibilities of care. Our service offering of therapeutic massage was born out of this daily experience, as well as our founder’s original vision for whole-person, holistic care. Therapeutic massage typically provides increased mental and physical relaxation, improved circulation, pain relief, accelerated healing from injury and illness, and improvement in the quality of sleep. In addition, when performed by our trained licensed massage therapists, massage also provides symptomatic relief from many common conditions that occur with age such as arthritis, diabetes, chronic back pain, fibromyalgia, Parkinson’s disease, cancer, stroke and Alzheimer’s disease.

At Family & Nursing Care, we are completely convinced of the benefits of therapeutic massage. We have seen it work. We know the good it does.

Since 1968, Family & Nursing Care has been the recognized leader in delivering compassionate, progressive and complete home care to aging adults. It is only natural that we take the lead with therapeutic massage, as well.

Flexibility, mobility, vitality…we want your loved one to have it all.
