Family & Nursing Care Foundation Issuing Grant Opportunity To Improve the Quality of Life for Low-Income Seniors

(Silver Spring, Maryland – August 25, 2009)

Sandy Kursban, Founder and Chairman of Family & Nursing Care, Inc., today announced the release of a Request for Proposals (RFP) to help improve the overall quality of life for low-income seniors. The Family & Nursing Care Foundation, a fund of the Montgomery County Community Foundation (MCCF), is spearheading a major step towards supporting non-profit community organizations that provide low-income seniors with the dedicated home care they need to remain in the safety and comfort of their own homes.

Ms. Kursban’s vision is to improve the quality of life for low-income seniors, many of whom are unable to afford the kind of care they need and deserve. The Family & Nursing Care Foundation is soliciting proposals for awarding a grant to one or more non-profit community organizations that offer free or reduced-cost home care services to low-income seniors in Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties in Maryland, as well as in Washington, DC.

Family & Nursing Care will make award recommendations to MCCF for approval by their board.

Family owned and operated since 1968, Family & Nursing Care has earned a reputation as the most highly regarded home care agency in Maryland and Washington, DC. “I am very proud to announce our first grant opportunity,” says Ms. Kursban. “I am grateful that we can give back to the community in such a meaningful and needed way, especially at this time of increased economic hardship for so many.”

Proposals should be sent via e-mail to or to Family & Nursing Care Foundation, c/o Sandy Kursban, 962 Wayne Avenue, Suite 500, Silver Spring, MD 20910. Proposals must be postmarked no later than October 23, 2009.
