Jumah Dorley-Frank has been a beacon of patience, honesty and open communication since becoming a Caregiver with Family & Nursing Care Select in 2020. In her role, she brings an unwavering commitment to helping clients feel their best and be happy.
Jumah finds joy in taking care of people and building genuine, personal connections, often through learning their interests and hobbies. Her favorite part of being a Caregiver is hearing clients’ stories about themselves and their loved ones, and trying to make that a central focus of their interaction. For example, one of her clients enjoys taking long walks, dressing up, and styling her own hair, and Jumah makes it a point to incorporate these activities into their time together. She believes it’s incredibly important to get to know the client she’s caring for because a strong relationship is the foundation for trust, which is key in this line of work.
As a Caregiver there are great days and sometimes there are challenging days, and on those days, Jumah is sure to deliver exceptional poise and grace for clients. When sharing advice with fellow Caregivers, Jumah suggests that being proactive and a detailed communicator can make a world of difference in the impact on a client because, at the end of the day, it’s about giving the client the best possible care they deserve.
To help her do the best job she can, Jumah believes it’s necessary to feel her best, so she likes to exercise and stay active. Knowing that her clients depend on her for help keeps her motivated. She also thinks it’s important to smile a lot to keep her spirits up.
