Rachel Sanford is the Director of Nursing for Family & Nursing Care Select. In this role, she helps to oversee supervisory nurses who support Family & Nursing Care Select clients and caregivers.
With more than 10 years of experience in the nursing field, Rachel joined Family & Nursing Care in July 2022 as a Supervisory Nurse before being promoted to her current position. The supervisory nurses meet with clients and their loved ones to professionally assess their needs and create a plan of care for caregivers to follow, as well as make home visits and provide ongoing supervision of home care services.
Rachel began her nursing career at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore where she was able to hone her skills, knowledge, and expertise while working on an adult cardiac intermediate care unit. This experience has helped in her current position by anticipating and recognizing clients’ specific home care needs. She has a heart for service and a dedication to helping clients and their loved ones navigate new and challenging health circumstances.
Rachel holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and health sciences from Salisbury University and a nursing degree from Anne Arundel Community College. She became a registered nurse in 2014. When not working, Rachel enjoys spending time with her family and friends, being outdoors when the weather is “just right,” and snuggling up with a great book.
